The Purpose of the Pen

Every time I hear good music my heart is lifted into the eternal. Hearing a good story or watching a good movie lifts my spirit and makes me want to contribute. I want to give the world something to find the deeper level. Being a poet and a writer comes with many challenges. The pressure can be to create but creation is the Holy Spirit’s realm and I take dictation. I am only an instrument of the Divine. How can me the finite creature express realities that hitherto fore have only been seen and experienced by one searching heart? The mystical brought to the human level. Every piece is like a prism shedding light in multi facets. Yet God uses this language to reach deep into the individual and pull out something new. A new creation. But what of the old? It still fights and what we do is a battle for freedom. What do I write for? Answers. My soul births the work and the language of God for me is communicated to those who care to listen. My audience is the individual who is searching for more. I will not give candy and junk food but sustenance and something to begin the journey for you to discover on your own. But this journey can only be walked with help and you are the only one who can truly be the link to the whole picture. One piece in the mosaic of life. I am not the sculptor but the chisel. We are to work together to bring out the masterpiece, the Artist and I. But I am weak and imperfect and the burden can be heavy but the message burns like fire until I give utterance.

What is hidden begs to be revealed from the rooftops. It will be made clear. Heart to heart. Eyelash to eyelash. I give from overflowing torrents a minuscule drip of water. So open your ear and close your mouth. Reflect and run with all due haste under fire to display the flag on the hill. Join the cry Raise your weapon for we cannot do this alone. Yet the difference is by one man. I will not drop the burden but it is for you to carry on.
